Went down to the lake around 10am and stayed until 4 moved from hole to hole until I found a bunch of fish in one area,You can tell if I stayed this long you know something was going on in that area what a day, I caught 84 bluegills, 14 perch, 2 rainbows and 64 crappies, I kept 10 that were 10+ inches for breakfast this am. but before that happens I am going now back to that spot and see if I can catch some more crappies before the rain. When I was leaving there was a man and woman at the parking area and the man had a heart attack or that is what it seemed like so got evolved in that not a nice way to end the day.
Will post later.

Just came back from the Lake and the water has gone up enough to keep you off of the the ice and what ice that i could reach was too thin to get on and if it goes up more I wouldn't be able to get off with out a little swim.Cry I guess have to wait until trout season opens to get back after the crappies again, that is the end of the Ice fishing season for me.Cry
See you next year!!!!

Man, sounds like you hit the mother load there! Did you get many nice size crappies? Or were they mostly smaller ones?

Max, as soon as that ice is off, there is great crappie fishing in Carey and Stevens(no need to wait for the park to open back up). I know you are aware of this, but I just thought I would chime in.

Thanks! I want to get on early when they raise the water on carey maybe the next week and will be trying Stephens this year again.
Most of the crappies were in the 7 to 8 inch range but one right after another until I move to another hole about 15 feet away and as deep the bigger ones were in this area about 1//2 way off the bottom.
I fished and caught all the fish in an area of about 80 feet, I didn't have a finder just took a bucket, so just fishing blind I had a terrific day.
Let me know when I can get on to Carey/Stevens.
