Fished Slocum today for about 5 hours, did not put a fish on the ice. Started by the boat rental and moved to the launch off carverton road. There were guys everywhere, nobody had any fish.......I saw a couple dink gills caught and that's it. Did anyone do anything there.

Anyone have any info. on the tournement at slocum 2/6/10 ?  Its was the moon lake one. Times and where to meet would be helpful. i may fish this if the fish limit is not to many.

slocum today bite was a little slow.good solid ice 8+.Did manage some decent crappies and a few gills. didn't head out to early so bite was tough.Good to get out after 2 weeks.

fished Slocum this morning for a couple hours. 7 inches of ice. 30+ crappie,the bite was good for 1.5 hours steady. Hope the ice stayes one more week.

Hey everyone,
 
I had to make a comment on this forum post. Last week was at slocum with a green and red long blade spinner. Got a 12lbs large mouth. They're there ya'll just need to learn that the bass in slocum are not the sharpest tools in the shed and tend not to follow the regular bass habits. I don't know wait this is, but that isnt the first pig I got out of there. Last year I got an 8 lb small mouth over by the dyke near carverton road. Any tournament you guys find out about please let me know. Thanks a ton!

CONGRATS YOU CAUGHT AND RELEASED THE STATE RECORD . I BELIEVE THE RECORD IS 11LB 3 OZ. SHOULD OF LIVEWELLED IT AND CALLED THE PFBC, I DON'T THINK THEY WOULD HAVE MINDED, THEY WOULD HAVE PROBABLY WEIGHED IT AND GAVE YOU THE RECORD WITHOUT A FINE..... THEN AGAIN MAYBE NOT.... LOL.

11.3 for the Largemouth, 8.8 for smallmouth these are the wts. of the state records, now they are monsters that you caught, I sure hope you have pictures.

I was at slocumn last week, not biting to well by the way and there was a young guy at the ramp who told me he caught and 8lb smallie there too.  I wonder if this the same guy.  I just said great. It must be in the pea soup green water.LOLLOLLOLShocked

The state record smallie is 9 and some change.  It was caught a few years ago from Scotts Run  down towards Reading.  The Fish Commission didn't want to recognize it because they said it couldn't come from that lake sinec they don't stock them in there.  Only trout lake.  After a good fight it was recognized as our state record

It doesn't surprise me  that they wouldn't believe him, They the fish Commission wouldn't believe that i was catching the fish that i was even with pictures, The last walleye that I caught at the park they said that I caught it someplace else and just made it up about getting it at the Park, same with the Crappie so nothing they do make's very much sense to me.Angry

Sorry it took so long >.<! Work sucks sometimes and when i get home I just want to pass out. I guess the one i got last year (bottom) was a large mouth too. And i am really kicking myself for not saving the big one and showing someone! I didnt even think, I was more worried about getting him back in the water. As fair as the tournaments go, when I get back from my vacation I am going to save for a boat (if wifey lets me) and seriously start entering tournaments.

Also if anyone would like to go fishing in slocum please let me know! i am always up for a fishing friend...since mine works/ has class opposite of my schedule. Just not the date of 6-13 of june. i will be fishing in OBX, NC for blues, reds and tiger sharks.

due to the fact that my scale is very old and rusted out I am thinking thats it's broke...and now feel like a fool. I just checked it and it is deffenatly off. Sorry for the misleading on that. I need to invenst in a new one.
